Battle.net Codes: How to Redeem a Code on Battle.net

How to Redeem Battle.net Codes

To redeem Battle.net codes, open the Battle.net desktop app, click your account name and choose Redeem Code, then enter the code. You can also redeem on the Battle.net website under your account. Codes unlock games, in-game items or Battle.net Balance, and must match your account’s region.

  3. Choose Redeem Code. Enter the code exactly.
  4. Confirm. Check what the code unlocks.
  5. Check the game. Items appear in game; games appear in your library.

Blizzard explains the process in its official How to Redeem a Code article.

Using Battle.net Balance

Balance from a card works like store credit. You can spend it on Blizzard games, expansions, subscriptions such as World of Warcraft game time, and in-game shop items for supported titles. It appears at checkout as a payment option once redeemed.

From our experience, most balance problems are region related: a card bought in one country will not add funds to an account set to another. Check your account region under account settings before buying a card online.

Why Battle.net Codes Fail

  • Region: codes and balance cards are tied to regions.
  • Wrong account: check which Battle.net account is signed in.
  • Already used: look in your game or transaction history.
  • Typos: re-enter slowly; avoid copying extra spaces.
  • Expired promotion: event codes can end.

If a balance code shows “Oops! Something went wrong,” Blizzard has a dedicated support article.

Redeeming on other PC stores too?

Avoid Scams

No real site gives free Battle.net codes for your login. Fake giveaways and “free mount” links steal accounts. Turn on Blizzard’s authenticator and only redeem in the official app or website.

Common Mistakes

  • Redeeming on a second or old Battle.net account.
  • Buying balance cards for another region.
  • Confusing console codes with Battle.net PC codes.

Other PC stores: see our GOG codes guide and Epic Games codes guide. Game crashing after install? Use our game crashes guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to redeem Battle.net codes?

Redeeming takes about a minute in the app or on the website. Balance appears immediately, and items usually show up after you restart the game. Full games then need to download through the Battle.net app.

What do I need before redeeming a Battle.net code?

You need a Battle.net account in the right region, the code, and the desktop app or a browser. Sign in to the account that should receive the item. Turn on Blizzard’s authenticator to protect your account.

What are common mistakes with Battle.net codes?

The most common mistakes are redeeming on the wrong account, buying codes for another region, and confusing PC codes with console codes. Typing errors and expired promotional codes also cause failures.

Can I redeem Battle.net codes on console?

Battle.net codes are for Battle.net accounts, mainly on PC. Some games link Battle.net accounts to consoles for items, but console store codes are redeemed on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo stores. Check the code’s instructions for its platform.

Does Battle.net Balance expire?

Balance terms depend on your region and Blizzard’s policies. In most cases redeemed balance stays on your account, but promotional credits may expire. Check Blizzard’s terms for your country, and spend promotional credit soon after you receive it to be safe.
